University Network Sustainable Architecture: Reflections on Educational Co-operation as Progressive Learning & Research

The aim is twofold: On one hand, it defines a unique co-operative educational experience called ‘University Network for Sustainable Architectural Design and Urban Planning’. This is a progressive educational project about university network between three Schools of Architecture in Asia and Europe. The goal is the reinforcement of environmental issues on sustainable architecture and urban development.

On another hand, it manifests innovative approaches towards the idea of progressive upper education for sustainable architectures mainly applied in the professorship and postgraduate students. Read more at http://www.asiasustainabilitynet.upc.edu

Mrkonjic is architect and Ph.D. student. She has both research and professional architectural experience since 1997. She has worked in design studios in Europe and has participated in several research and co-operation projects on environmental design and education. Actually, she collaborates with Barcelona School of Architecture, as lecturer in doctorate programme 2004-2005 and participates as project assistant at the University Network for Sustainable Architectural Design and Urban Planning. Cristian Suau

Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Barcelona School of Architecture, Dpartment of Architectural Design

Suau has both academic and professional architectural experience since 1994. He has worked in design studios both in Europe and Latin America and has participated in several architectural entry competitions on housing design and urban design. His doctoral research is on theory of modern architecture. He joined the Faculty of Architecture in 2004 as postdoctoral research fellow. About additional research, he has recently been guest researcher at School of Architecture, Chalmers University of Technology and NTNU. Actually, he collaborates with Barcelona School of Architecture, as lecturer in doctorate programme 2004-2005 and participates as researcher on climatic design at the University Network for Sustainable Architectural Design and Urban Planning: See http://www.asiasustainabilitynet.upc.edu
